World of Darts: help

Quick answers to what players ask most. For anything else, the way to reach us is at the end.

How does scoring work?

You throw at your own dartboard, then tap your score into the app: a turn's total on the keypad, or dart by dart on the board. The game never changes a score you enter. Your opponent, a bot, throws its turn straight back.

Typed a wrong score? Tap Undo (the curved arrow at the top of the match) and enter it again.

What's free, and what does Pro add?

The download is free, with quick play against every bot, all the games, your first career season, friends and online play. Pro is a one-time purchase that opens every career season after your first, and your form in Stats: the Form chart and the last 30 days. One purchase covers every player on your iPhone.

Get Pro in Settings → World of Darts Pro. On a new iPhone, or after deleting the app, tap Restore purchases there, signed in with the Apple Account you bought it with. Purchases go through Apple, so for a refund, ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

I played the beta. Do I keep Pro?

Yes. If you played World of Darts on TestFlight before Pro arrived, Pro is yours free, for every player on that iPhone, and Settings → World of Darts Pro says Founder. It travels with your iCloud backup: on a new iPhone, or if you reinstall, say yes when the app offers to restore your backup. Caller voices aren't included.

Caller voices

The Caller announces your scores, free. Other voices are one-time purchases, separate from Pro, each for every player on your iPhone. Hear them and buy them in Settings, under Voices. To change your caller or turn calling off, use Announcer, under Sound.

Adding a friend

In Friends, tap Invite a friend. Your friend scans the QR code with their iPhone camera, opens the link you send them, or types the code under Friends → Add with a code. An invite works for 7 days.

The first time, the app asks you to turn on sharing. That sends your card (your name, look and stats) to our server so your friends can see it. There's no account, email or password.

Playing a friend online

In Play, choose Online, pick a friend and tap Send challenge. Your friend has 15 minutes to accept. You each throw at your own board and enter your own turns, and every turn shows on both phones. Each turn has 3 minutes, and missing three turns in a row loses the match.

A new iPhone, or deleted the app?

Your players, careers, stats and hats are backed up to your own iCloud. Install World of Darts signed in with the same Apple Account, and the first time it opens, it offers to bring them back. You can also back up or restore any time in Settings → Backup.

Stopping sharing and deleting your data

Settings → Sharing → Stop sharing deletes everything our server holds for that player straight away: their card, friends list, World board weeks and notification tokens. Deleting a player in Who's playing does the same.

Your darts stay on your iPhone and in your iCloud backup. Settings → Data → Reset history deletes a player's matches, career, stats and hats on this iPhone.

Deleted the app without stopping sharing? Your card is deleted after 12 months without an update. To have it deleted sooner, or for anything else about your data, email hello@worldofdartscareer.com, with the player's name and roughly when you last played.

Reporting a name

On the World boards (Friends → Boards → World), touch and hold a name and choose Report this name. A name reported by three players is hidden from the World boards until we look at it.

To stop seeing a friend, touch and hold them in Friends and choose Remove friend. It takes you off each other's lists, and only a new invite from you can add them back.
